JSW Energy Crosses 15 GW in Record Expansion Push

JSW Energy has hit a major capacity milestone, crossing 15 GW of operational generation capacity as its rapid expansion pushes its portfolio to 15,025 MW.

The company added 1,572 MW since April 2026, reaching the milestone in less than six quarters after crossing the 10 GW mark in March 2025. Renewable energy accounted for 1,272 MW of the capacity added so far in FY27, including 593 MW of solar, 108 MW of wind, 420 MW of hybrid and 150 MW of hydro capacity. Another 300 MW came from inorganic thermal capacity.

With renewables now accounting for more than 60% of its operational portfolio, JSW Energy has 9,067 MW of renewable capacity in operation and has secured 29.6 GWh of energy storage capacity.

The company remains on track to add 3 GW of greenfield capacity in FY27 and is targeting 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030.
